Climate resilience is an effective, hopeful framework to prepare for the major transformations to come

Published in Science, Nature Climate Change, Nature Water, The Ecologist, and many other outlets as well as interviewed by the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Reuters, and National Public Radio, I’ve advised more than 100 national governments on climate adaptation and resilience issues, ranging from Pacific Islands to the US National Security Council. I’ve worked as a resilience scientist and practitioner for economic development, conservation, investment, climate policy, and resource management in well over 30 countries since 2007. My work: to help get us ready.

The world is changing quickly, mostly beyond our control. How do we manage change with agency?

Resilience is a new way to consider uncertain and rapid change for our economies, institutions, communities, and ecosystems.

“Climate change is a threat multiplier. Water is our resilience multiplier.”
